AI bedtime story: a personal story written for your child
An AI bedtime story is a story that an AI writes for you from what you tell it. At Wonder Saga that means a bedtime story where your child can be the main character, with the details and the moral you choose. The first lines appear after a few seconds, and a story created from an account gets an illustration when it is finished.
What an AI bedtime story is at Wonder Saga
Wonder Saga uses generative AI to write the story. Each one is written from scratch, based on what you fill in. On wondersaga.com the story is written in English.
You decide how much to tell. All fields are optional, and the more you fill in, the more tailored the story becomes.
Wonder Saga is made for adults. You, the parent, create the story, and your child gets to hear it.
What goes into the story
The form for creating a story has these fields:
- The main character's name and a pronoun, such as he, she or they.
- "About the main character", for example that she is brave or has a little brother.
- "Plot and other details", for example where the story takes place and who else is in it.
- A moral.
- The story length.
There are twelve morals to choose from, for example "Be kind to animals" and "Being different is okay". If you don't want one, choose "No specific moral". If you want chance to decide, choose "Surprise me!".
A Short story is 8 paragraphs and a Medium story is 20. For a longer tale you can choose Multi-chapter, which gives you 5 to 7 chapters. Medium and Multi-chapter need a free account.
When you click "Create the story", the text starts to appear after a few seconds. You can read along while the story is being written.
A first name is enough to make your child the main character. Leave out last names, addresses and other details that could identify your child.
With an account you can also start the story from a drawing your child has made. Take a photo of the drawing and upload it.
If you want to go through the steps at your own pace, there is a page on how Wonder Saga works, step by step.
Read an example
Say you enter the name Leo and the pronoun he. Under "About the main character" you write that he loves dinosaurs and has a big sister called Mia. Under "Plot and other details" you write that Leo and his dog go looking for a lost kite in the woods behind the house. You choose the moral "Friendship" and the length Short. The AI then writes a new story of 8 paragraphs built on those details.
The story below is the example from our home page. It was made from other details, about two siblings called Max and Ella, and shows what a finished story from Wonder Saga can look like.
Max and Ella on an Adventure
Once upon a time, there were two siblings named Max and Ella. Max was ten years old and the responsible older brother. He always planned carefully before acting. His sister Ella, seven years old, had lots of energy and loved exploring new places. She was always curious and full of a sense of discovery.
One day, Max and Ella decided to set out on a sailing adventure. They sailed across a vast sea. The boat took them farther than they had ever been, to an unknown island. The island seemed mysterious and inviting.
When they went ashore, they were greeted by lush trees and colorful flowers. The air was filled with a lovely fragrance. They felt like princes and princesses in a magical world.
Suddenly they heard a faint call. At the shoreline sat a friendly orangutan waving to them. "Welcome to my island," the orangutan said kindly. "I need your help."
Max and Ella were surprised but curious. The orangutan explained that the trees no longer bore fruit. "Small underground creatures are chewing on the roots," he said sadly. The siblings decided to help.
They started looking for the creatures' lair and planned together. Max was wise and thought through each step carefully. Ella contributed her inventiveness and came up with creative solutions.
After many hours, they found a small entrance to the creatures' world underground. They crawled in carefully, a little scared but excited for the adventure.
Inside the tunnel, they met small creatures with sparkling eyes that looked at them curiously. Max gathered his courage and explained the problem with the trees.
Ella suggested that the creatures could chew on something other than the trees' roots, maybe leaves or berries instead. The creatures looked interested when she showed how it could work.
With combined efforts, the siblings helped the creatures understand the importance of caring for the trees to keep the island beautiful.
The creatures promised to stop chewing on the roots and tried Ella's ideas instead. Soon the trees began to flourish again with plenty of fruit.
The orangutan warmly thanked Max and Ella for their help. He invited them to a feast filled with fresh fruit from the island's trees, now saved.
The siblings felt happy to have done something good for the environment together with their new friends.
As evening came, Max and Ella sailed home again, pleased with their adventure on the secret island.
They had learned how important it is to care for nature and to cooperate with others for a better world.
And so their adventure ended, but the memory of the magical island stayed with them forever like a treasure in their hearts.

The illustration that comes with the story
When a story created from an account is finished, Wonder Saga automatically writes a description of a scene from it. An AI then creates the illustration from that description. The picture is based on the story's plot, not on a photo of your child.
